Game of Thrones: Baelor (Season 1 Episode 9 Spoiler)

The North Army has reached the Twins, where House Frey holds the only pass over the River Trident. Catelyn goes to Walder Frey, the elderly grumpy Lord.

She requests his army to join Robb’s, but Lord Walder wants something in return- Robb must marry one of his daughters, and Arya must be promised to one of his sons. Although unhappy and reluctant, Robb agrees.

The Lannister army prepares for the battle and Tywin commands Tyrion to lead his hill tribe in the battle. Tyrion is furious and accuses him of trying to get him killed. He storms off to his tent, where he finds Bron, and a prostitute named Shae.

Later, Tyrion, Bronn, and Shae are playing a drinking game the night before the battle. They make an observation about each other’s personality and if the observation is correct, the person drinks. Tyrion shares a story about his marriage when he was 14 years old. He and Jaime found a girl named Tysha in distress near the Casterly Rock. Tyrion confronted the girl and they spent the night together, and a drunken septon marries them in the secret.

Two weeks later, his father found out about it and was furious that his son has married a common girl. Jaime reveals to Tyrion that girl was a prostitute and that they were only trying to make Tyrion happy by tricking him into sleeping with the girl because he was a virgin.

Lord Tywin then forced his guards to have sex with Tysha while Tyrion watches.

In the morning, Robb’s army attacks and Tyrion is knocked out. Later he wakes up and Bronn tells him they won, but that the battle was a feint- Robb made a diversion and sent a small fraction of his army to confront Tywin’s army, while the main army is marching to Riverrun to attack Jaime.

Robb returns from the battle with a precious prisoner: Ser Jaime. Robb’s army defeated Jaime’s badly and Riverrun is freed.

At the Wall, Lord Commander Mormont gives Jon Snow a Valyrian steel sword, Longclaw, as a token of his gratitude for saving his life. Longclaw is a family sword of House Mormont, but since lord commander’s son, Jorah Mormont has disgraced himself, he has decided to give it to Jon.

In Essos, Drogo’s wound has become infected. He falls from the horse, a sign of weakness among the Dothraki.

Daenerys calls for Mirri Maz Duur to help him. In order for Drogo to live, they must make a sacrifice. They take Drogo’s horse and the ceremony begins in the tent and no one is allowed to enter during the ceremony. Daenerys starts to go into labor, and Jorah takes her into the tent.

Lord Varys visits Ned in the dungeons. Varys suggests him to confess to treason, this way he can save his life and Cersei will let him take the black and join the Night’s Watch as the reduced punishment. Ned Stark refuses unequivocally.

Arya is living on the streets of King’s Landing and has heard that the Hand of the King is being brought in front of the Great Sept of Baelor. She joins the crowd and Ned is given a chance to confess his ‘crimes’. Ned, sees Arya and Sansa there, for their wellbeing, he succumbs and proclaims that Joffrey is the true King, but Joffrey orders his execution anyway, saying “treason must be punished”.

Arya tries to make her way through the crowd, but Yoren stops and grabs her.

Cersei tries to persuade her son to revoke his decision, but it is too late- Ser Illyn Payne draws Ned’s sword Ice and cuts his head off.

The things are taking shape in all of the fronts. Who will win the war of the great houses, no one knows. One thing is sure, the dead will dance here tonight.
