In Meereen, Daenerys Targaryen and Tyrion Lannister talk about how to handle the slaver fleet. Daenerys goes on to have a meeting with the slave masters who agree to allow Daenerys go back to Westeros, on the condition that she leaves Missandei and the Unsullied behind with them and then murders the dragons. Daenerys goes on to retort that the reason behind the meeting was to talk about the surrender of the Masters and then she mounts her Drogon and flies away, along with Viserion and Rhaegal. Daenerys flies to the bay with her dragons and makes them set fire to the entire fleet.
Missandei goes on to inform the Masters that Daenerys has demanded the death of one of them in order to punish them for their crimes. The Masters quickly hand over Yezzan but Grey Worm goes ahead to kill two Masters instead. Tyrion tells Yezzan to go on and inform the Masters of Daenerys’ power. Meanwhile, Daario Naharis leads the Dothraki army to brutally kill the Sons of the Harpy who are murdering freedmen on the outskirts of Meereen.
Meanwhile, Daenerys and Tyrion meet up with Theon Greyjoy and Yara Greyjoy, who make them an offer to help them defeat Euron Greyjoy and acknowledge Yara as the rightful heir to the Iron Islands, and in return, they would grant Daenerys usage of their entire fleet. Daenerys obliges on the condition that the Ironborn stops raiding the mainland, and Yara reluctantly agrees to her terms.
At Winterfell, Jon Snow, Sansa Stark, Tormund Giantsbane and Davis Seaworthy also have a meeting with Ramsay Bolton and his team of adviser’s moments before the battle. Ramsay goes on to state that he will forgive Jon’s breaking of the Night’s Watch vows on the condition that he hands Sansa over to him. Jon goes on to suggest that they settle the dispute with a simple combat but Ramsay declines, remarking that although he may not be able to beat Jon in combat, the Bolton army would easily conquer the loyalists of the Starks in battle.
Smalljon goes on to show evidence that Rickon Stark has been captured by revealing Shaggydog’s head. Sansa informs Ramsay that he will be the next to die the following day and storms off on her horse. Ramsay goes on to boast that he has been deliberately starving his hounds in preparation to feed Jon and his aides to them. Jon goes on to talk about the battle plan with Tormund and Davos, this causes scold him by remarking that he was attacking without recruiting the help of more men and finally concludes that they will be defeated by Ramsay.
However, Jon goes on to inform Melisandre that their army is already as large as it could possibly be. Jon goes on to instruct Melisandre not to resurrect him if he dies in battle, but she bluntly responds by telling him that her actions are up to the Lord of the Light. Davos and Tormund converse about the times they were in the service of Stannis and Mance, then finally come to an agreement that they have been serving the wrong king all along. Davos eventually comes across the Pyre where Shireen and the wooden stag he had carved for her were set ablaze.
The following morning, both armies gather outside Winterfell and Ramsay brings out Rickon and makes him run towards Jon while he shoots arrows at him. Jon rushes to save Rickon but before he can make it to Rickon, but before he is able to reach him, Rickon is shot dead with an arrow. Jon immediately attacks Ramsay who goes on to instruct his archers to start shooting and his army to attack. In response, Davos also orders the Stark forces to shield Jon. The battle causes the deaths of many Bolton and Stark soldiers due to hand-to-hand combat and the Bolton arrows fired, ultimately creating a wall of dead bodies.
The Bolton infantry eventually surrounds the Stark forces and even though the giant; Wun Wun kills a few Bolton soldiers, Tormund begins to fear and orders his army to head towards the wall of bodies and Smalljon’s army who also ambush them. Jon gets caught up in the stampede of the wildlings but manages to get up. The Stark forces seem to be on the verge of defeat when the blast of a horn announces the arrival of Sansa Stark and Petyr Baelish leading the Knights of the Vale who crush the Bolton army. Tormund kills Smalljon in the ensuing battle.
The defeat causes Ramsay to flee back to Winterfell, chased by Jon, Tormund and Wun Wun. Wun Wun tears down the gates of Winterfell, allowing the Stark loyalists to finish off the surviving Bolton army. Wun Wun is fatally wounded in the fight and is finally killed off by Ramsay, who goes on to tell Jon that he finally chooses to go for the offer of single combat. Jon shields himself from Ramsay’s arrow shots and goes on to overpower and starts to beat Ramsay to death. Jon stops beating Ramsay when he sees Sansa and goes on to order for his imprisonment, their victory leaves Winterfell in the hands of the Starks once again.
Bolton banners are shown falling off the walls of Winterfell to be replaced with House Stark banners of the Stark direwolf. Later, Sansa heads to the kennels where Ramsay has been kept with his hounds and regardless of his bragging that his hounds would not harm him, they devour him starting from his face, as Sansa walks always with a smile on her face.
